From the academic field it is possible to impact the world and contribute to social change, in addition to providing the student body with the opportunity to acquire professional experience . This has motivated the creation of different alliances for education in which companies open their doors for students to do their internships, benefiting both parties.
However, the contributions of each Middle East Mobile Number List student are not limited to commercial activities within companies, but can help change the reality of underprivileged communities thanks to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy of the company that gives them shelter. Thus, corporations not only become a space for training, but also one for transformation, and we demonstrate this with the following example.
Alliances for education: GAT and UV
In Mexico, the leader in sugar production is, without a doubt, Grupo Azucarero del Trópico ( GAT ), whose production headquarters, also called Ingenios, are located in the states of Campeche (La Joya) and Veracruz (La Gloria). And, it is in the latter where we work together with the Universidad Veracruzana ( UV ) to carry out a professional training and social impact project to benefit the community of La Gloria.
Thus, since 2014, the collaboration agreement between GAT and UV has allowed the synergy between both institutions to improve the quality of life in the state of Veracruz. Since through teaching, research and cultural dissemination, UV members contribute their knowledge and skills to contribute to social change in the area.
Furthermore, thanks to their participation in this type of alliances for education, the UV and GAT reaffirm their commitment to social responsibility by responding to social problems that are still current in the state. Likewise, this has allowed them to understand the impact of their actions in favor of the communities, participating in activities such as:
Delivery of toys to students through the “Sponsor a letter” program.
Teaching of the workshop in the “Cañeritos con el corazón en la mano” program.
Dissemination of the rights of children and adolescents.
Participation of the arts faculty in the “Revolución” Primary School.
Teaching of the “Connections” workshop for the use of social networks.

Thanks to this, the community of La Gloria, over the years, has been able to change gradually, since not only GAT takes care of the interests of its collaborators, but with the help of the UV it works to benefit the entire surrounding population. And as the reach of these programs and activities expands, more and more people will be able to see the results of this partnership.
Transforming society through education
Although it may seem like a simple process, the Universidad Veracruzana and GAT carry out all their activities in collaboration after carrying out evaluations and surveys to understand the needs of both the people of the community and the students. Afterwards, they develop the action plan and subsequently carry it out and monitor it. Since, in this way, they can know and support with verifiable data the importance of this type of alliances for education.
And, for 2023, both institutions have several action programs planned. Which are born from a university that, with almost 80 years of history, has become a reference both nationally and internationally, since it has been concerned with adapting to the challenges that humanity faces in different areas, including social, the environmental and the technological. Thus, GAT and the UV implement activities to ensure that social development is balanced and fair.
Likewise, in order to expand the impact of its initiatives, the UV will carry out a new survey at the La Joya Sugar Mill in the state of Campeche, to also benefit this other area in which GAT operates. Since one of the objectives of this alliance is to ensure that the projects they carry out together reach other locations in the country, and that university students can acquire new skills in different contexts.
